Question by Eclipse Girl: Can anyone tell me how much I could sell these Mexican Coins for?
1948 5 pesos 30g Mexican Silver Coin
1987 Juarez Mexican Silver Coin
??? Thanks
Best answer:
Answer by liberty 911 A 1948 Mexican 5 Pesos contains 0.8681 troy ounces of silver which is currently worth about US, and the coin is worth only slightly more than that. 1987 Mexican 50 Pesos is only worth US even if like new. These are retail prices, and a coin dealer would pay wholesale prices. The Mexican Peso was devalued in 1993, so the coins would be worthless as currency if you tried to spend them in Mexico today. I hope that helps.

Question by Eldorado: Silver Junk Coin as an investment?
Is 90% silver junk coin a viable option to invest in PM in comparison to PM ETF and Bullion?
Best answer:
Answer by Luke If you want to get the easiest silver possible, buy the etf, so you can buy at spot with no shipping costs. both bullion and junk silver can be help personally at your house, so if you like the security of that or believe in a doomsday scenario I would buy physical silver. bullion is the most expensive way to buy, but it is in easy increments and it is simple to know what you are getting. If you want to spend the time buy the 90% silver and research, sometimes it sells for above and sometimes below spot, some 90% also has numismatic value are value for just the coin in no relation to the silver value.

Question by flipperr: Silver coins?
What holds more value for silver coins, coins that are new or old coins? I have a set of both old and new but I want to know which one hold more value.
Also is the value of silver based on the "ounce" or "type of coin" that goes into circulation?
Best answer:
Answer by Taiping It depends on which is the rarest and the grade of the coin. There are no circulating silver coins. The silver value is far more than face. Most countries in the mid 1960 stopped striking silver coinage for general circulation. When it come to bullion coins such as the silver eagle with a face value of it sells for at least 18 to 20 times that, then it is the one ounce of silver in it unless it happens to be a low mintage or special one, that had few minted. Another thing what do you mean by old, old is the 1800's and before.

Best answer:
Answer by liberty 911 There are seven places with a 1979 - 10 Francs coin: Belgium, Central African States, France, French Polynesia, Luxembourg, New Caledonia, West African States, and it would be helpful to know which place yours is from. Also the first link below has values for world coins.
Here is what you have:
1979 Argentina 100 Pesos (3) [There are two types.]
1979 ???????? 10 Francs
1979 Italy 100 Lire [There are two types.]
1979 Panama 1/4 Balboa
1987 Dominican Republic 10 Centavos
???? Columbia 100 Pesos
1950 Italy 1 Lira
1978 Italy 200 Lire
???? Brazil 10 Centavos
1995 Philippines 1 Piso
None of these coins is worth all that much. The 1950 Italian 1 Lira is worth at least US if like new, but the rest likely retail for .50US to .50US each. Please check the links for more information.

Question by Trent B: how much is a 1958 silver dime worth?
I have a 1964 and a 1958 silver dimes. I am wondering the value of each, and I wonder if anyone can tell me without a great deal of problem.
Best answer:
Answer by Taiping Circulated 1958 and 1964 silver dimes are bought by dealers for around 7 to 8 times face value. They are not scarce so only the silver in them has value. As the price of silver goes up their value will also.

Question by hiraan: Silver Dollars?!!?
When I brought my Silver Dollars they're fine. After about one month they've started a fight actually I'm not sure if it's a fight or not because it didn't appear that they're harming each other, they more likely to be chasing each other very fast!. At first, I thought they're playing, but yesterday I saw one of them is hiding!
Is there any possibility they'd fight, if so what should I do?
Please help I've been told that SilverDollars prefer to live with their fellows, I'm confused!.
I feed them twice a day(an amount which can be eaten in one minute). Recently, they tend to not eat when I feed them the second time!.
I know, the tank space is enough there's plants(false), I've some wood decoration. Everything is prepared!.

Answer by gtogoat Silver Dollars do prefer being in groups of 2 or more. I would say that they are just having fun with each other. You are feeding them enough and keeping the tank clean right? Keep an eye on them, but I would say if they have been in the tank for 1 month then started doing this that they are just playing.

Question by Ieie Ed: Is there a site where i can see pictures of old coins preferibly mexican and american and their value?
I have a few old coins (american and mexicans) and i want to see their value, but i've only found sites where you post details and an expert tells you the value, i want a site where i can see pictures with the value so there is no confution, thanks in advance
Best answer:
Answer by Mike The only thing that will have pictures and values would probably be a book of world coins, specifically on North American coins by Krause Publications. Or specific to the American coins, you can get a red book by Whitman Publications. A few sites I can share with you will have pictures, or the price of the metal content of the coin, as opposed to the collectible value. The only way to see as close as the collectible value, that I know would be to just go on ebay, because it truly reflects the prices people are willing to pay for the coin. Other than that I will list the sites I have mentioned in the sources below. I Hope they help you out.
