Question by fisher_cal: how much actual silver in three junk silver dollars in troy ounces?

Answer by John
The USA stopped putting silver in coins in 1964. There was some silver in half dollars a few years after that. I think up to 1970. Coins 1964 and older are worth 10 to 11 times the face value ( a dime would be worth . to .10). The half dollars 1965to 1970 are worth about . or so each.

  1. I. B. Zoxx says:

A US 1935 or earlier silver dollar contains .77 troy ounces of silver. Thus, three silver dollars would be .77 times 3 = 2.31 troy ounces.
