Question by Eclipse Girl: Can anyone tell me how much I could sell these Mexican Coins for?
1948 5 pesos 30g Mexican Silver Coin

1987 Juarez Mexican Silver Coin

??? Thanks

Answer by liberty 911
A 1948 Mexican 5 Pesos contains 0.8681 troy ounces of silver which is currently worth about US, and the coin is worth only slightly more than that. 1987 Mexican 50 Pesos is only worth US even if like new. These are retail prices, and a coin dealer would pay wholesale prices. The Mexican Peso was devalued in 1993, so the coins would be worthless as currency if you tried to spend them in Mexico today. I hope that helps.

There are seven places with a 1979 - 10 Francs coin: Belgium, Central African States, France, French Polynesia, Luxembourg, New Caledonia, West African States, and it would be helpful to know which place yours is from. Also the first link below has values for world coins.

Here is what you have:
1979 Argentina 100 Pesos (3) [There are two types.]
1979 ???????? 10 Francs
1979 Italy 100 Lire [There are two types.]
1979 Panama 1/4 Balboa
1987 Dominican Republic 10 Centavos
???? Columbia 100 Pesos
1950 Italy 1 Lira
1978 Italy 200 Lire
???? Brazil 10 Centavos
1995 Philippines 1 Piso

None of these coins is worth all that much. The 1950 Italian 1 Lira is worth at least US if like new, but the rest likely retail for .50US to .50US each. Please check the links for more information.

Question by Sonata: Anyone have some good Pokemon Soul Silver / Heart Gold training advice (for Poke around level 50+)?
Okay so I got all 16 badges and I'm stuck where to train. My strongest Pokemon is a level 54 Weaville. He's always been my strongest and my pokemon have always been a lot lower leveled then my opponents, even random trainers on the streets! Even so I've never had a real problem battling an opponent and I even made sure to deposit my Pokemon so I have the same amount as a gym leader does when I battle them. I even managed to defeat 3 of Red's Pokemon (mainly 'cause of items). I battled every trainer (I think) and I'm stuck where I can train. I need to raise a couple levels before I do a double battle with my rival against Lance and Clair or challenge Red again. I'm kinda shocked that my Pokemon are so much lower leveled than my opponents', especially since half of them were traded! Sorry to monologue, but getting to the point I need to know a good place to train. I can't use the elite four because they're too strong now and take too long.
Here's my current team:

Weavile: -traded- (hatched from Pearl version, traded for my Cyndaquil as soon as I could trade on SS. Made sure levels were equal) Level 54. Ice Punch, Night Slash, Cut, (4th attack is gonna be Brick Break or Swords Dance whenever I find the TMs) *never had a problem leveling up*

Steelix: Level 52 Earthquake, Rock Climb, Screech, Rock Smash (I know it sucks but I need that HM) *takes forever to raise*

Raichu: -traded- Level 53 Thunderbolt, Fly, Flash, Headbutt

Vaporeon: Level 52 Surf, Whirlpool, Shadow Ball (very weak for some reason), Auora Beam

Dragonair (shiny :> ): -traded- Level 51 Waterfall, Dragon Rush, Dragon Dance, Headbutt *want her to stay a Dragonair without evolving*

Aipom (gonna evolve soon): Level 49 Last Resort, Strength, Screech, Double Hit (his attacks stink right now, gonna teach him the 3 elemental punches)

I also have other pokemon on standby that I raised for a while then stopped inlcuding:
Level 41: (shiny gamestop) Raichu, Ledian (stunk in battle), Dragonair (used before shiny), Togekiss
Level 50: Luxray

GIVE ME TRAINING ADVICE PLEASE :D

For a this team I recommend training at Mt. Silver. There are lvl 49-51 pokemon in there. Also bring a lot of and just use an escape rope do get out anytime or just use the TM move Dig. I think you're pokemon are a good match for these pokemon. (Hint: Moltres and Pkmn Trainer Red is in there)

Question by sammy g: does anyone know anything about a 1994 half pound siver eagle coin?
it says it is from the national collectors mint but when i called them they had no info on it and i cant find the paper that came with it, is it a troy half pound or a half pound ? is it real? it says .999 pure silver, thank you

Best answer:

Answer by Taiping
Take it to a coin dealer or jeweler and have it weighed. If the weight is right them it is a great possibility it is real. I am surprised the National Collectors Mint is still around. They sold silver medals like you have at such high costs that the buyers would never recoup their loss for 50 years. Weigh it and if it is on, it is real. There were quite a few large silver pieces made in the 1990's up to and after 2000.

Question by Michael S: Anyone bought sterling junk silver (mainly jewelry) on eBay?
Just saw some eBay listings for scrap silver, looks like a lot of jewelry on some of these listings, and I was wondering if any of you had had any experience buying scrap silver online on eBay or elsewhere in jewelry form. Coins are a bit easier to identify as the real thing, but I'm curious if any of you have had any experience with any of this. I'd be tempted to buy for the value of the silver:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=scrap+sterling+jewelry

I'm not at all interested in gold just because since it's worth so much more, there'd be a lot more people trying to pass off fakes. :-)

Answer by Mary Anne
Well, if you are going to buy then make sure the seller has a high feedback rating and has been a member of Ebay for a long time. By the way, if you want to know a way to get money back every time you buy something on Ebay, then send me an email.
