The USA stopped putting silver in coins in 1964. There was some silver in half dollars a few years after that. I think up to 1970. Coins 1964 and older are worth 10 to 11 times the face value ( a dime would be worth . to .10). The half dollars 1965to 1970 are worth about . or so each.

there from
1881,1882,1887,1888,1900,1901,
1904,1921,1922,1923,1924,1934
its 300 + of them i stopped counting
and there is a 5 pesos Mexican coin its the same size as the US silver dollars its from 1948 and is made of silver
about half of them look brand new and the others look black on the front and back but silver colored on the sides
nobody knew they were there not even my grandfather we found them in the back of a dresser and they had to be there for the past 25 years i dont know how long he had them before that
about 50 of them have a s mint mark on them
i dont remember the rest of them i got tired of looking at them

I'm not to sure about it..but you have a lot of money into those coins.....do you want to keep them?...if not put them on e-bay for auction..but before document yourself on the value of the coins

A 1948 Mexican 5 Pesos contains 0.8681 troy ounces of silver which is currently worth about US, and the coin is worth only slightly more than that. 1987 Mexican 50 Pesos is only worth US even if like new. These are retail prices, and a coin dealer would pay wholesale prices. The Mexican Peso was devalued in 1993, so the coins would be worthless as currency if you tried to spend them in Mexico today. Your coin is worth around .00. If you ever decide to sell your coin it may sell easy due to the fact that it was graded by NGC . I saw some coins like yours on eBay that were selling for a higher price, although eBay isn't the best place to look for values of coins. Hold on to your coin for it's value may increase more in the future. I hope this helps answer your question.

These links should be somewhat helpful to you. Mexican currency made prior to 1993 is no longer legal tender, but it does have collector value. The Canadian half dollars are not worth much more than silver melt value. I hope that helps.

The dime is fully silver. The half dollar is quite old, with the image fading, you can still make it out very clear on what the image is.

I would have to say at least 10 cents on the dime and 50 cents on the half dollar.
