Question by Who are you, Seal?: Moving a Fish Tank, cycling help?
I'm never happy with my aquarium. NEVER.

I've had aquariums for 10 years now. Always 55gallon and I always feel like the grass is greener.

I had a community tank, wanted american cichlids.

Decided i didn't want americans, got africans

Replace my africans with an oscar and some silver dollars

Now i want to go back to a community tank.

I am also NEVER happy with the layout.

I don't know if theres something wrong with me, i just cant get happy with my tank.

I bought worth of gravel today, think it was close to what I wanted, I put some in and it looks awful. Luckily I only opened one bag so I will get back hopefully...

Regardless, I finally got around to putting some new backing on last week and now I hate it, it makes the tank look dull and yellowy, discolored.

I want to move it in front of a window, I know when you can see through the tank and beyond, not against a wall, it always looks good and you don't have to fill it with junk.

I was wondering how I should go about moving the tank, will the existing bacteria in the canister filter be enough to cycle it and put the fish right back in? Should I store some of the old water somehow?

Its a very nice tank.

i know how you feel. I got into wanting a tank...someone gave me a 20 gallon with angelfish and white skirt tetras....

It has become more work than I expected.

if you don't like the tank after changing it a ton, moving it will not help. Time to just give up the hobby.

Question by bradzb: How many Silver Dollars in a 75 gallon tank?
I've been cycling a 75 gallon tank now for a month and everything is at a good level for dollars. I check it every other day. Currently have five mollies in the tank to help with cycling, no deaths and everything is good.
Looking at getting some silver dollars this coming weekend and the question is how many. Thinking of doing 8-10 sound good?
Also, thinking about going with some freshwater shrimp in the future, feasible or no?

I THINK YOU COULD GO WITH 11 SILVER DOLLARS REALLY... WE HAVE A BIG SALT WATER TANK IN OUR LIVING ROOM AND YOU WOULD BE AMAZED AT ALL THE FISH WE HAVE...
THEY GET USED TO EACH OTHER WHEN YOU PUT THEM ALL IN AT ONCE AND NOT ONE AT A TIME! TRY IT! && NO SHRIMP... LOL
